Why Hire a Wedding Planner?

Thank you for visiting our site; we hope to be informative and continue to offer great stories and tips to plan a successful wedding day!

Why would you want to hire a wedding coordinator/planner? You consult expert advice when buying a home; big expense right? Your wedding day can also take on a great deal of expense depending on the style and on your resources. But wedding planning doesn't just cost you monetarily it also costs you in time and can cause much stress.

Questions to Ask Yourself:
  • Do I have unlimited time to plan my wedding day?
  • Am I able to visit suppliers during the daytime when their offices are open?
  • Am I comfortable negotiating contracts with caterers, photographers, car hires, florists, stationers, bakeries, etc.?
  • Am I prepared to deal with disagreements about the details?
  • Can I deal with last minute problems that may come up the day of the wedding?

Hiring a wedding planner might seem like an extravagant expense, but it could be the best investment you make. Wedding planners are NOT only for those couples with enormous budgets, we find that most couples and families that we talk to are on a restricted budget and want to do things right. As your wedding planner; we can help you set a realistic wedding budget. In most cases, a wedding planner will save you money.  The added value of knowledge about wedding etiquette, handling last minute emergencies and negotiating contracts can be cost effective and helpful; we work closely with professional suppliers on a day to day basis and will recommend the best team for your special day!

Not having the time to plan all the minute details is another reason to consider hiring a wedding planner. The average bride spends 250 hours organizing her wedding - that's equal to 6 full-time working weeks! There may be aspects of your wedding day that you've been dreaming about for a long time, but have no idea where to begin. This is where our wedding planning services can become your best partner. It's important that you feel comfortable and confident with the person you choose. Your wedding planner acts on your behalf and you should trust them to help you make the right decisions. After all, marrying your best friend and celebrating with family and friends should be an “amazing” day!

When you meet with a wedding planner to discuss your wedding day, there are some essential questions to ask yourself:
  • Will this person push me into decisions I don't want/can't afford, or will they commit to my budget?
  • Do they have a good rapport with the best suppliers (venues, caterers, photographers, etc.) in the area?
  • Will they be there the day of the wedding, overseeing the entire event from supervising suppliers to troubleshooting emergencies?
  • Does this planner seem excited about my special day, able to make educated decisions, calm under pressure?
Your wedding planner is a creative partner and can offer advice and opinions, in addition to looking after all the practical arrangements. They will help you prioritize, plan ahead, consider risks and always be one step ahead.

Please consider Mom and Me Events for your wedding day planning and give us a call today!

January 2012 Tulsa Wedding Show

We love showcasing designs at wedding shows. The Tulsa Wedding show at the Renaissance Hotel had a fun and unique setting for us to show off this crisp and clean tablescape. The tall centerpiece was the WOW factor and included tall white branches, a great find, as well as hanging votive holders showcasing lush hydrangeas. The focus was lush without being overstated.
The mercury containers and candle holders were the foundation of our tablescape. They added the romance without overpowering the clean and refreshing feel. The stationary design, courtesy of Paper8, was spot on. A little touch of bling but clean and complimentary to ivory and taupe linens.
We believe inspiration can come from the most unique place or the best bargain you may find on your journey. Don't be afraid to buy the containers first and then plan your flowers and tablescape design around those things; it is well worth the satisfaction in the end.
